A new Hungarian success in the Comediada Clown and Mime Festival of Odessa!

The „Tadam” production of the clown class of Baross Imre Institute of Artist Education was awarded in the Best Director and Screenwriter category by the international jury!

The adult clown class of the Baross Imre Institute of Artist Education, Budapest, was invited to the annual Comediada Clown and Mime Festival of Odessa. Clowns and mimes from many countries gather to this international muster, debutants and professionals to get to know each other, get information about the different present styles and trends, and not least to match their skills.

This year Ukraine, Russia, Latvia, Italy, Spain, the USA, Poland, Japan, Israel and Hungary presented themselves. The different awards were given by an also international jury consisting of acknowledged professionals: circus, theatre and festival directors, producers, leaders of circus academies from all around the world.

Eugene Chaplin, son of Charlie Chaplin also resided in the jury. Hungary was represented by Csaba Méhes, mime-comedian, one of the leaders of the adult clown class who won the Grand Prix Award of the Comediada Festival two years ago.

The clown class introduced themselves as Tadam Group on the second day with unanimous success. Their “Tadam” production was awarded in the Best Director and Screenwriter category by the jury!

We are proud of them and congratulate the clown class: Sára Brunen, Natasa Kőhalmi, Artúr Dangel, Dávid Margulius, Jakab Sebestény, Levente Turóczi, and not the least their teachers who prepared them: János Greifenstein and Csaba Méhes!
